Jenn Brathovde, Director of Advising & Retention

Jenn Brathovde

Jenn holds a BA in Family and Consumer Studies and a BA in Elementary Education from Central Washington University. She is dedicated to supporting student success at every stage of the educational journey. She values building strong relationships and works to ensure those she works with feel supported, informed, and empowered.

Fun facts: Jenn enjoys spending time with her kids and her pets. She is an avid reader and prioritizes wellness through her yoga practice and hiking. Jenn has also been teaching yoga for about 17 years.

Alissa Scriven, Career Pathways Coordinator

Alissa holds an AA-DTA General Studies from Spokane Falls Community College, a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies-Social Sciences and a MEd-Higher Education from Central Washington University. Her areas of expertise include: advising and navigating the transfer process.

Fun Facts: Alissa loves to thrift shop, stay updated on current events, make new memories with her family and snuggle with her cat.

Sarah Williams, Retention Coordinator

Sarah Williams

Sarah holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Central Washington University. Her area of expertise is college access.

Fun Facts: Sarah is a lifelong learner, mental health advocate and yoga enthusiast.

Jasmine Evangelista-Martinez, Academic Advisor

Jasmine

Jasmine earned an AA&S DTA from Big Bend and a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Central Washington University. She will be graduating with her Juris Master's in Compliance from Liberty University this summer!  Her areas of expertise include: academic advising, transfer support, career guidance, degree building, financial aid, and scholarship assistance.

Fun Facts: Jasmine enjoys spending time with her family; she has a 7-year-old daughter, husband, and 13-year-old cat at home. Her family enjoys camping and being outside. The whole family is video-game enthusiasts and welcome all genres.

Kimberly Barreras, Academic Advisor

Kimberly Barreras

Kimberly is a proud first-generation college graduate who holds a BA in Psychology from Eastern Washington University. She is passionate about supporting students throughout their academic journey and helping them reach their goals. She’s always happy to help and also speaks Spanish (habla español). Her areas of expertise include advising for Running Start students and mentoring students.
 
Fun Facts: Kimberly lives in the Moses Lake area with her husband, her adorable dog Canela, and recently welcomed a baby girl. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, going on walks, listening to podcasts, and spending time with friends and family.

Alan Park, Academic Advisor

Alan Park

Alan kicked off his academic journey at Big Bend Community College and leveled up with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) and a minor in Communication Studies from Eastern Washington University. His area of expertise is advising for Running Start students. 

Fun Facts: Alan is all about new experiences, whether it’s hiking a new trail, hopping on a plane to somewhere unfamiliar, or taste-testing the spiciest dish on the menu. He is also a fan of game nights, digital or tabletop, and loves kicking back with friends for some friendly competition and laughs.
